Principal's Message - April

By Andrew Macphail

I am writing to share news about some admin changes coming to Traditional for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year.

One of our Vice Principals, Jaimie Webster, has been reassigned to Yale Secondary and she will start there over the summer. Mrs. Webster will be greatly missed by the students and staff here, after being a huge part of the ATSS culture for five years, but she will soon be making her mark on the other side of town where the staff and students at Yale can get to know her and come to appreciate her as much as we do.

Mrs. Webster has written a few words for the ATSS community that she has been a part of for 5 years: After 5 years in this building, I’m not sure I am equipped with the right words to describe how I feel about leaving. I have truly enjoyed working with this amazing, talented, and progressive staff and it has been my absolute pleasure to serve this community of adults and youth. Leaving is bittersweet as I say goodbye to dear friends, colleagues, and wonderful students, but look forward to my continued growth at Yale Secondary. I hope to stop in from time to time to say hello to this Titan Community and I welcome emails and visits from you.

With Mrs. Webster's departure, the district has assigned Stan Wiebe as her replacement. Mr. Wiebe will be joining Mrs. Bennato and I as the new admin team next year.

Mr. Wiebe writes: Hello ATSS and ATMS families. I have been working in education for more than 20 years. I taught Social Studies classes at a number of schools including 15 years at Yale Secondary. I have been an administrator for 3 years, and I worked most recently at WJ Mouat Secondary. I'm excited to join the team at Traditional. I have heard great things about the staff, students, and families, and I'm looking forward to working with all of you. With seismic upgrades and the move toward merging both ATSS and ATMS into a single school, we will be busy to say the least, and the new admin team is looking forward to sharing this journey with the school community and working together during this important work.
